Server log files

When you access this website, the hosting provider automatically collects data that your browser transmits for technical reasons and stores in so-called server log files:

• IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of the request
• page or file requested
• volume of data transferred and HTTP status code
• referrer URL (the previously visited page)
• browser type and operating system

Purpose: this data is technically necessary to deliver the website, to ensure its stable and secure operation, and to defend against abuse.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – my legitimate interest in the secure and stable operation of the website.
Retention: log files are deleted automatically after a short period, unless they are needed in an individual case to investigate a specific security or abuse incident. This data is not combined with other data sources.

Hosting

This website runs on a server I rent from PHP-Friends GmbH (Germany). The provider processes the server log data described above on my behalf as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR. Processing takes place on servers within the EU; no transfer to a third country occurs.

Contact by email

If you write to me by email, I process the details you provide (e.g. name, email address, and the content of your message) solely to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (handling your enquiry) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry concerns entering into a contract. This data stays with me until your request has been dealt with conclusively and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right, at any time, to: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing (Art. 21). An informal message to the email address above is enough to exercise these rights.

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
